David Wainaina

David Wainaina, Program Manager at Resourced, has over two decades of experience in business development across Sub-Saharan Africa. David is passionate about helping smallholder farmers access innovative products and technologies to improve their livelihoods. He is known as a skilled networker and community builder, fostering cross-sector collaborations that lead to program success.

David manages the IMAGE and SMIA programs in Eastern Africa and Nigeria, collaborating with various high-level stakeholders to drive the monitoring, adoption, and turnover of new and improved seed varieties.
Prior to joining Resourced, David managed a wide range of business and commercial operations in Tropical Africa. These operations also included seed variety development operations in R&D sites in the targeted geographies.

His expertise extends to pharmaceutical and public health sectors involving many stakeholders such as the private sector, government, donors, and implementing partners that enable him to contribute to the management and successful outcome of strategic projects across multiple countries. David speaks Swahili and French, and he has advanced literacy in Portuguese. He holds an MBA and a BCom from the University of Pune in India.
